DFT, 2 Sinusoids with Random noise.

Cuthbert Nyack
Here a random contribution is added to the sum of 2 sines and the DTFT and DFT calculated. As shown by the green and orange plots, the spectrum for 1 set of samples is far from flat.
Different sets of samples can be obtained by clicking on the wL scrollbar. Different sample sets are different in both the time and frequency domains.
The dark brown spectra shows the average of the spectra obtained from different samples. The number of samples averaged can be increased by continuous clicking on the wL scrollbar.

After a large number of samples have been averaged, the spectrum of the random component becomes 'flat' as would be expected for the spectra of a random signal.
