The applet below shows autocorrelation(correlation of a
sequence with itself) being used to "clean up" a signal
with noise.
Magenta and yellow show a sinusoid and a sinusoid with noise.
The autocorrelation of the magenta sequence is in pink and that
of the yellow sequence is in cyan. The difference between the
autocorrelations is much less than the difference between the
signals.
The spectra of the noisy signal and its autocorrelation is also
shown.
